'The ideal reference tool' is the marketing phrase used by MobiSystems, the developer of this app. Based on my own usage, I'd be inclined to agree with them! With 4700 entries suitable for all levels of education, most established chemistry based words or phrases are descriptively defined to a high standard. The best feature on this app is the 'word of the day', which is reported on the main page. A list of 'special topics' that include, the Greek alphabet, SI units and a list of all the previous winners of the Nobel prize for chemistry is at one's fingertips. For example, the prize was won in 1901 by Jacobus Henricus Van't Hoff for his work in discovering the laws chemical dynamics and osmotic pressure in solutions.

User Interface
The app can be effortlessly navigated through, content wise. It is also possible to send an invite to your friends to try the dictionary too. You can also see your recent searched posts should the need for reclarification occur. Some additional quality of life settings can be found, which permits editing aspects of the app such as the colour scheme.

In-App Purchases
Oxford dictionary of chemistry contains in-app purchases from between £4.29 and £8.49. This seemed to be the price for a lifetime license for the app with and without a promotional code. The digital property gained for this sum was the ability to use the dictionary offline, access to premium support and to remove all ads from the application.
